This conference is organized by the 3L.AM (Langues, Littératures, Linguistique des universités d’Angers et du Mans) and the EMMA (Etudes Montpelliéraines du Monde Anglophone, Université Montpellier 3) Research Centers. 

This conference aims to promote a comparative approach to memories of slavery and colonization: we intend to question memory processes through representations of the past in contemporary arts (literature, photography, plastic arts, films) and in-depth studies of their historiographical discourse.
